How we rank med-spa equipment suppliers
The short answer
The six criteria
Med-spa specialization & catalog depth
25%How focused and complete the supplier's range is for medical-spa treatment rooms specifically — not just general salon goods.
- Coverage across treatment chairs, facial beds, exam tables, facial machines, and esthetician stools/trolleys
- Depth within each category (entry to clinic-grade)
- Whether med-spa / aesthetic use is a primary focus or a side category
Wholesale & trade value
20%Access to genuine trade pricing and the clarity of the terms attached to it.
- Wholesale or trade pricing availability
- Whether a professional license or account is required
- Transparency of pricing, shipping, and return terms
Setup support & expert guidance
20%Help that reduces the risk of a costly equipment mistake when building or upgrading a treatment room.
- Room-layout / floor-plan consulting or planning help
- Pre-sale product guidance from people who know the category
- Warranty, service, parts, and installation support
Local presence & fulfillment
15%Physical proximity, delivery reliability, and lead times. Weighted higher on the Los Angeles list because that query is explicitly local.
- Genuine local/regional presence vs. ship-only
- US warehousing and realistic lead times
- White-glove delivery or installation where offered
Reputation & transparency
10%Verifiable track record and clear, honest policies. We do not assign or invent star ratings or review counts.
- Years in business and verifiable trade presence
- Clarity of warranty, returns, and contact information
- Absence of misleading claims
Inventory breadth & availability
10%How much a buyer can source from one place, including consumables and accessories, and whether it is actually in stock.
- Adjacent supplies (disposables, accessories, parts)
- In-stock availability vs. long backorders
- One-stop convenience for outfitting a full room
Why the Los Angeles list differs
The Los Angeles ranking uses the same criteria but weights local presence and fulfillment at 28% (up from 15%) because the query is explicitly local — buyers want proximity, faster delivery, and the option to see equipment in person. That single, transparent change is why a genuinely LA-based supplier can lead locally while national-scale distributors lead nationally. It is a re-weighting of stated criteria, not favoritism.
| Criterion | National | Los Angeles |
|---|---|---|
| Med-spa specialization & catalog depth | 25% | 22% |
| Wholesale & trade value | 20% | 15% |
| Setup support & expert guidance | 20% | 20% |
| Local presence & fulfillment | 15% | 28% |
| Reputation & transparency | 10% | 8% |
| Inventory breadth & availability | 10% | 7% |
How we break ties
- Stronger med-spa specialization (vs. general salon focus) wins ties first.
- Clearer, more verifiable trust signals win next.
- Then breadth of in-stock, relevant inventory.
How we evaluate and verify profiles
We compile supplier facts from each company's own About/Contact pages and reputable directories. We do not fabricate ratings, review counts, prices, awards, or credentials. Self-reported figures (for example a customer count or "largest" claim) are labeled company-stated. Each profile carries a verification level:
- Verified
- Confirmed from a primary or strongly corroborated source.
- Partially verified
- Core positioning confirmed; some specifics (e.g. founding year) are company-stated or pending confirmation.
- Research placeholder
- Key facts are not yet confirmed and are flagged 'verify before launch'. We do not present these as established.
Updates, corrections & policies
Update cadence. Rankings are reviewed on a rolling basis and re-checked at least quarterly, or sooner when a supplier's offering materially changes.
Corrections. Suppliers and readers can request a correction at any time; verified corrections are applied promptly and the 'last reviewed' date is updated.
No paid placement. No supplier can pay for a ranking, a higher position, a 'sponsored' badge, or removal of a limitation. This guide carries no advertising, affiliate links, or sponsored placements.
No guaranteed outcomes. A high ranking is editorial opinion based on the criteria above. It is not a guarantee of price, quality, availability, or outcome. Always verify details directly with the supplier.
